Available Classes

  • Ballet

    Ballet is the technical foundation of all dance styles, and we believe that it is an integral part of learning how to dance. Our Ballet classes follow the ATOD syllabus and contain traditional barre and centre work designed to create a strong and elegant dancer. Students will be introduced to the basic foundations of Ballet technique which build upon the fundamentals of dance movement.

  • Jazz

    Jazz classes consist of traditional, Broadway style, and commercial Jazz. Our classes incorporate a blend of turns, jumps, technique, strength and style. They aim to build stamina, strength and flexibility but most of all, they are simply great fun!

  • Tap

    45 min

    Tap dancing is one of the oldest and most well-known genres of dance. Students develop a sense of timing and rhythm, as well as strength and stability in the upper body to contrast the speedy footwork.

  • Acrobatics

    Acrobatics

    Following the Acrobatic Arts syllabus, students start with fundamental skills of acrobatics and gradually progress to a variety of advanced skills, from cartwheels and forward rolls to aerials, walkovers and somersaults. Strength, body posture and flexibility are also included to ensure the body is capable of such skills.

  • Hip Hop

    Hip Hop is a street style of dance that has become increasingly popular over the last ten years. Classes are choreography-based and highly stylised to that of an international standard. Correct Hip Hop technique is taught within the choreography, with high emphasis on foundation grooves, movement, and connection to the music.

  • Drama & Vocals

    Drama & Vocals

    Our Drama & Vocals classes are a form of theatrical performance that combines singing, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. Students learn excerpts from famous musicals and singing techniques, as well as learning scripts and characterization. The focus is to participate in our LPD Music Theatre productions. Students are encouraged to select a dance genre such as: Ballet, Tap or Jazz to maximise the benefits of the program.

  • Contemporary

    45 min

    Contemporary is a fusion of technique and raw movement, combined with Ballet styles and expressive flowing patterns. This style encourages self- expression, natural movement and personal interpretation and is always popular with students. Advanced Contemporary classes are by invitation only.

  • Conditioning

    45 min

    Strength & Conditioning is a workout class designed to help dancers increase their body strength, stamina and flexibility. Strength & Conditioning also teaches dancers about the mechanics of their body as it relates to dance technique.

  • Jumps, Kicks & Turns

    45 min

    Our Jumps, Kicks & Turns classes are specifically designed to provide a grounding for other styles. Students will learn all types of variations of jumps kicks and turns to support jazz contemporary and lyrical genres. The class helps improve strength, flexibility and overall technique.

Performance Teams

Available to dancers wishing to extend their performance opportunities, our Performance Teams take part in various competition events.

Team members are required to commit to the full competition season, be disciplined to attend classes regularly, work hard and continually strive to be their best.

At Lisa Pellin Dancers all students who wish to explore further performance opportunities are invited to be a member of our Performance Teams. Our dancers compete against other schools at eisteddfod events and gain valuable experiences, learn new skills and build lifelong friendships.

Being a member of Performance Teams comes with a set of expectations and responsibilities, which are explained further before joining, and confirmed with the Count Me In acknowledgement.

  • Regular attendance in class, including a weekly Ballet class

  • Students must be available for all eisteddfod events

  • Solo and Duo performers must enter their routine in a minimum of three eisteddfods

  • Compulsory attendance at rehearsals and Performance Team Intensives

We are extremely proud of our Performance Teams program. We encourage independence, responsibility, accountability, and resilience, which are all equally important areas of the Performance Teams training.

Calculation of Fees & Inclusions

All fees listed are prices per class. Class fees include tuition and costume hire for the Annual Mid-Year Showcase and the End Of Year Display. Depending on when your child commences or finishes dancing at LPD, a pro-rata charge for costume hire may apply.

Our teaching program is broken into four terms to align with the school year. The term dates are outlined below. On receipt of the Jotform Online Enrolment, an invoice will be generated for the full 37 weeks of yearly tuition, or from the week your child commences classes through to the end of the year’s program. Payments will be directly debited from your nominated account, either fortnightly, monthly or quarterly..

  • Simply fill out our enquiries/registration form by clicking on the Count Me In button above and we will be in touch with you shortly.

  • You may trial a class at any time in our Leongatha and Inverloch Studios. Please contact us for class times so that we may expect you on the day. The trial class fee can be settled at the Studio in cash or card. Students must complete our registration form before trialling a class.

  • Yes! We have viewing windows available so you can see your child’s progress without disrupting the class. To support your child’s independence, confidence, and focus, we don’t allow parents inside the classroom during lessons. This gives students the chance to fully engage with their teacher and peers while building resilience in a fun, supportive environment.

  • There are no refunds on term fees regardless of the reason for the absence including sickness and public holidays. Make up classes are available, please email for appropriate class times. Once a term has commenced there is no refund for any mid-term withdrawals; you are obliged to complete the term. We must be notified in writing before the new term commences so that the appropriate changes to the account can be made. Simply no longer attending classes is not considered a cancellation, we must be notified in writing of your intention to withdraw.

  • All costume hire costs are built into your class fees. Small adjustments may need to be made to your child’s costumes when they are sent home. We ask that parents assist us by making their child’s costume user friendly and stage ready. Students should have already purchased tights and shoes.

  • Upon enrolment we shall set up your account from the time your child commences dancing until the end of the year’s program. Class fees will settled by Direct Debit. You have the option of convenient fortnightly, monthly or quarterly payments.

  • You may swap days if you miss a class (as long as the make-up class is not full). We do recommend that you avoid alternating days too much as pre-schoolers need the comfort of knowing that the same teacher and their friends will be there when they go to dancing. Please notify us if you require attending an alternate day.
