Students wishing to build upon their dance training may move into the Advanced Program where classes are more focused and disciplined.

Advanced students are offered a comprehensive training pathway that requires a compulsory Ballet class for all students. This classical foundation is essential to LPD’s training philosophy and has been a crucial factor in the success of our Advanced students over the past 30 years. It has significantly contributed to the high standard and recognised quality of training that our school offers.

Students have the opportunity to compete at eisteddfod events as members of our Performance Teams, extending performance opportunities beyond the Showcase and End of Year Display.

Dancers may elect to take Ballet exams through the Australian Teachers of Dance program, as well as the Conservatoire Ballet in Melbourne, the highly successful Vaganova method taught here at LPD.

We expect all students in the Advanced Program to participate fully as it is an integral part of their development as dancers. Some Advanced classes are invitation only, but expressions of interest will be considered.

Former students of the Advanced Program have been accepted into many respectable institutions as they have pursued their careers in the Performing Arts.
